This medicine contains allopurinol which works by reducing/slowing the production of uric acid/urate in the body.
This medicine is used to prevent/manage the following
conditions associated with too much uric acid in the body:
gout (painful swelling and redness of the joints), cancer treatment and treatment with diuretics (water tablets), kidney stones, certain skin conditions and certain enzyme disorders eg. Lesch-Nyhan Syndrome.
